When I first started homeschooling, I didn’t have a perfect plan—I had a vision. I imagined days that felt peaceful and connected, where my daughter could learn in ways that actually lit her up. I wanted our home to be a place where curiosity was safe, rest was respected, and learning didn’t feel like a checklist.
What I didn’t want was to recreate school at home. I didn’t want pressure, power struggles, or tears over worksheets. I wanted something more life-giving—for both of us.
That’s why I’m so grateful for Florida’s PEP (Personalized Education Program) scholarship. It gives families like mine the freedom to homeschool without the fear of financial strain. With it, I can choose the environment that fits my daughter, not an external system. I can invest in the books, classes, science kits, and creative tools that support her unique way of learning.
PEP isn’t just about money—it’s about access. It’s the permission to build something beautiful and custom, without needing to justify it to anyone but your child.
My hope is that more parents feel confident enough to follow this path. Not because it’s easy, but because it’s worth it. The connection I have with my daughter, the joy I see in her learning—that’s everything.
